This period looks at how America gained its independence and its attempts at a Democratic and Republican government.
Period 4: 1800-1848
This period looks at how America reinforced democratic values, underwent a period of industrialization, established new cultures especially with a religious revivalism, and had increasingly sectional politics.
Period 5: 1844-1877
This period looks at how America expanded, got into a civil war, and looked to develop in its aftermath.
Period 6: 1865-1898
This period looks at how America embraced a capitalist market, integrated immigrants, developed new cultures, and created some political arguments over the highly industrialized society.
Period 7: 1890-1945
This period looks at how America came to dominate international politics, create reforms to raise social standards, fostered a new national culture, and the creation of modern American elements.
Period 8: 1945-1980
